I met Cliff in 1974 at Warwick Pumps. He was the manager and gave me a job. He was also the best welder I have ever seen. After a number of years we started C and C and 2 years after that Sheet Tech was formed which was a testament to the friendship and loyalty we had that lasted 35 years. He was good at sports including a London marathon and countless half’s. A Good skier and golfer. I played with him when he parred at Sandmartins. Cliff treated me like family and I loved him. He is undoubtedly playing heavens fairways right now and I will be playing with you again one day mate. Thanks for the memories. He was my best friend and I will never forget him. His old mucker Clivo.

Clifford Dottson 1949-2024 Cliff a very dear and close friend for 64 years! It has been a great shock to all the family, friends, and associates when we heard of his passing. Just a few weeks ago he was still working and playing golf, unbelievable. Cliff and I first met when we were very young lads. Our families moved from London to the Slough area. There we went to the same school. We played a lot of sport, football, cricket and had great juvenile fun together. We moved onto senior school and even ended up in the same classes! On leaving school we were lucky enough to have the largest industrial estate on our door step, no problems getting a job in those days! We worked together for around ten years before Cliff started his own very successful business. We were brother -in laws for 25 years. We had great times with the close family. Holidays, parties, and get togethers during England’s football world and European cup exploits. The 80’s were the marathon running years about 10 years. At one point we ran from the Dog & Duck Wokingham to Lands’ End raising a lot of money for charity, we even had the local radio station follow our progress live on morning radio! Then of course came the sporting love of his life the golfing years, which he loved to the end. As we all know he was a larger-than-life character. During 70’s 80’s and 90’s we became virtually a double act in the haunts we frequented, Pin & Bowl, Tithe Barn, and of course the Dog & Duck where we were members of the very successful PAR 5 Golf Society. All these years, we had some great laughs and there is an awful lot of stories! In the later years we met up less frequently maybe two or three times a year with the intermittent holidays abroad with the “boys” always, whenever we met up it was if we had never been apart. A sign of true friendship. During Cliff’s life, with his wit and humour and commitment to his family he lightened a lot people’s lives. My dear friend, thanks for all those memories. Rest In Peace.
